Dead Poets Society

12:20 AM

I just finished watching Dead Poets Society, and oh my God, what an amazing movie! I had been putting it off for months, but now I regret not watching it sooner. The script and storytelling were exceptional, and the ending scene was a true masterpiece. I literally got goosebumps during that moment. The film beautifully showcases what a great teacher truly earns through their career—the respect and love of their students.

Neil’s death left me absolutely stunned. I never expected such a twist; it was heartbreaking and powerful. This is definitely a movie I’ll rewatch, not just for the emotional impact but also to learn more. I picked up new words and idioms that will surely help me with my IELTS preparation.

The movie is a true work of art, reflecting the harsh realities of our society. Many parents impose their own dreams on their children, denying them the freedom to pursue their passions. The film delivers this message with raw honesty. Every scene kept me engaged, and the unity of the boys at the end was the perfect culmination—like the cherry on top of a beautifully crafted story.

I especially connected with Mr. Keating’s character. He reminded me of a teacher I had during school, someone who truly inspired me. The dialogue “O Captain! My Captain!” was so powerful—it held deep emotion and created an unforgettable connection with the audience.

Lastly, I deeply admired the bravery of Todd Anderson at the end. That moment gave me shivers and even more goosebumps. The film, in every sense, is a perfect form of art.
