1) How do assertive, aggressive and submissive communication styles manifest in workplace setting? Give one example from a workplace scenario and state it in all the communication styles.

The way the staff express themselves to others while communicating.

Scenario : Guy name Dylan had already finished his project and now setting to go home then the project manager came and told him to do another project by this week. So we will briefly explain all the behaviour scenarios here :

Submissive : Response " Ok man, I will do it by this week, although I have other projects but I will do this first then rest later "

Assertive : Response " I understand this project is important and it has deadline by this week, but I have other projects in due which I have to complete them before this week as well, so why can't we work this via collaborative approach, you can assign an intern and I will guide him and at the end I will reassure everything and submit to you by this week".

Agressive : Response : "I have a lot of projects to do this week, so I can't do this ask someone else to do it, cause this week I am already occupied."

 

2) Give example of non verbal cues contradicting with verbal communication.

: So there is a meeting going on with workplace team :

Scenario : Speaker is speaking in front of team members

Verbal : "Yes, Iv'e got it, "

Non-verbal : "But, while they say that, nodes their head as "no", or bows down their head which shows the slightly dissatisfaction towards what speaker is telling."

 

Scenarion 2 : Boos ask the manger about project how's you feeling about we getting this project.

Verbal : "Yes, boss I am really excited about this project."

Non-verbal : "While saying that, they are not maintaing eye contact, and saying in monotone voice and no smile or any happy expression on face"

 

3) How do you think your communication behavior affects your leadership style? Give

example.

: Scenario : Leader of new web development project

Leader: "Using factual information and stating anything directly and also analyzing everyone expression and moves and using 'I' while expressing myself"

Effect : " Transparecy in team, assertive communication practice among the team, clearly sets expectations which can be achieved and builds trust and realiablity and members know what to expect from me. "

 

4) How does active or poor listening affect the team work at workplaces? Give example

 

: Scenario : In a meeting room, project manager telling what to do in next software update

Situation : " Project manager saraha, telling everyone about the new feature of using ai in their app which will increase their expenses so they will havee to increase their subscription "

Jhon Doe: " Listening clrearly, and maintaining proper eye contact with sarah and saying 'yeah', 'so', and these conjuctions, and ask questions "which ai we will use or our ai team is developing our own Ai" and also gives feedback on how can we cost cut on ai".

Result : "Clear communication between, project mangaer and team, and saraha is motivated to have awesome team and felt confident about herself and her team and the project runs smoothly."

 

Scenarion 2 :

Situation : Project manager saraha, telling everyone about the new feature of using ai in their app which will increase their expenses so they will havee to increase their subscription "

Jhon. Doe : " Using his laptop and doing other sorts of works and noding his head as he is understanding everything, and in. middle or end "yes we have to do it, as a team we can pull that off", ".

Result : " No proper communication between, team and project manager, Saraha, feels ignored and underwheelming and undercofindent. The project will not go as smooth as saraha planned and there will be major errors in apps."
